Working with heavy threads in the bobbin case has always held a special allure for me.  Creating with heavy threads produces the most amazing texture...dimension that can't be created any other way.  To be able to wind various and sundry weights and fibers of threads on the bobbin and create amazing textures has been so much fun.

This is just regular stitching...there is no embroidery involved here so anyone, with any type of machine can do this.
